How to Set Up Outlook Email

If you use Page Progressive email and you want to set up Microsoft Outlook to connect to our web server, here's the steps to do so.

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook (Note: Outlook Express is a little different)
  2. Go to the "Tools" menu and choose "Email Accounts..."
  3. If you are setting up Outlook for the first time, check "Add a new e-mail account." If you are reconfiguring an old hosting account to connect to our new server, check "View or change existing e-mail accounts." Click "Next."
  4. Check "POP3" for server type.
  5. (See diagram below) Enter your name and email address. For both your incoming(POP) and outgoing(SMTP) mail servers, use "mail.yourdomain.com." For your user name use your entire email address. Enter your password
  6. Then click on "More Settings" and click on the "Outgoing Server" tab at the top. Then check the first "My Outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication" and click "OK" and then "Next."
  7. Click "Finish."
  8. Now we recommend you setup SPAM filtering rules as described on this page.
NOTE: If you are switching to our web hosting, you may need to change your password here because in transferring your email accounts, we had to reset your passwords. You should have gotten your new password(s) by email from us. You may use this form to set your password back to what it originally was - just use the new password we gave you in the "Old Password" field and put your original email password in the "Password" and the "Confirm Password" fields.
